Polish composer, pianist, and producer Yana Couto announces the release of a limited vinyl edition of her acclaimed album The Great Hope — an intimate musical reflection on perseverance, imperfection, and the quiet strength found in human nature.
Described by Couto as “a love letter to human nature, a hopeful look at the world, hoping the world smiles back,” The Great Hope was originally recorded in her living room, where the soft imperfections of home — pedal noises, mechanical clicks, and ambient resonance — became part of the album’s soul.
“The Great Hope was my first small step towards courage — to release an imperfect album recorded in my living room, with all the beautiful pedal noises and mechanism clicks,” says Couto. “It was about sharing music that was an intuitive expression of what I felt at the time.”
Each of the 300 vinyl copies was personally carried and unpacked by the artist — a symbolic act that mirrors the album’s themes of persistence and heartfelt connection. The vinyl edition offers listeners a new, tangible way to experience Couto’s delicate compositions in their purest analogue form.
“There is no right time to decide on what your dreams are, and no wrong time to try and make them come true,” Couto adds. “In the midst of great doubt, let there always be a great hope.”
With The Great Hope, Yana Couto invites listeners to embrace their own vulnerabilities and rediscover beauty in imperfection — a message that resonates now more than ever.
