About Yana Couto

Yana Couto is known for her distinctive blend of contemporary minimalism and deeply moving motifs, she crafts emotional soundscapes, music that is infused with Slavic romanticism, where every note feels soft and stirring. In her compositions, she weaves together piano, acoustic instruments, field recordings and subtle electronics.

“Sports or music” was a question she got from her parents at the age of six, when she was a very energetic kid. Music was the immediate answer, quickly followed by the choice of piano instrument. It was with learning piano that she discovered a new world in which she could transform her feelings into beautiful tunes, and continues till today with composing her own pieces that are calming to millions of people globally.

In 2022 Yana Couto debuted her second album "The Great Hope" composed and recorded in the midst of the pandemic in her living room on her Bruno Sommerfeld upright piano, the same that followed her since her childhood. Since then, she released more than ten singles, has written several songs with world-class singers, created reworks and piano arrangements of popular songs, original scores for a theatre play and short films.

In 2025 she released a concept album Isolde with OS.SO which tracked international attention, including KEXP audition and their photo displayed on Times Square billboard in New York.

She performed in various music festivals and showcases, including Next Fest in Poland, Piano Lab Festival and Piano City Palermo in Italy, ESNS Groningen Showcase in Netherlands.
